Ventilation

To make our houses more energy efficient, they are intentionally made more air tight and insulated. Consequently that means they are less well ventilated as the natural air flow is gone. This worsens dramatically our indoor air quality. The average person spends up to 70% of their time in their home and this time has even increased during the pandemic.

A good source of fresh air is therefore essential for health and well being. While opening a window provides ventilation, the building heat and humidity is then lost in the winter and gained in the summer.

Mechanical Ventilation Heat Recovery systems (MVHR) provide constant fresh air via a fan driven system that recovers heat from the exhaust  air and uses it to pre-heat the incoming air, thus saving energy in the process.
