Are you designing a new built or an extension and wondering about:
Is the u-value of the specified floor or wall build-up sufficient?
How will the heating or heat pump system affect the BER rating of the house?

Does the building design comply with TGD Part L 2019?
What certifications and documentation are required?
- The earlier a BER Assessor is involved in the design of a new-built dwelling or extension, the more beneficial it will be for the energy performance of the building, the time and costs of the project and also the resources used on site.
- As an Architect you will know that a lot of energy efficient measures cannot necessarily be seen, but will be felt in comfort throughout the house afterwards. It is important to gain an understanding of your client’s expectations energy wise, but also to clearly communicate to your client at an early stage what measures are necessary to get there.
- Susanna BER Assessor offers a hand-in-hand approach consultancy service to guide you along this process.
- We provide
- provisional BER assessments and certification for new-built dwellings to achieve all nZEB requirements,
- preliminary BER assessments for existing buildings,
- BER improvement reports to comply with TGD Part L 2019,
- best energy efficiency advice to achieve a particular BER score and
- final on-site BER assessments at completion stage with BER Certificate and Advisory Report.
- When it comes to documentary evidence SEAI has very strict guidelines as to what is sufficient and acceptable as evidence for the BER assessment. In order to achieve the best and most accurate BER rating and get all the required documentation, it is advisable to inform the contractor about his responsibility at tender stage and include a documentation list in the scope of work.
